The Institute for Autism Research (IAR) at Canisius is an interdisciplinary research center dedicated to understanding autism.  The IAR team conducts a range of studies that help identify the unique strengths and challenges faced by autistic individuals and their families. In addition, the IAR team has developed and studied a number of unique treatments that have been shown to significantly improve the functioning of those affected by autism. The IAR is committed to developing the next generation of autism researchers and clinicians. This is achieved by providing high-level research and clinical training and experiences to undergraduate and graduate students.
