At the Edge of the Shore - double registration

This Canisius Adult Lifelong Learning Institute offers a summer course presenting engaging discussions concerning the adventures of Odysseus and Achilles with a focus on the exploits of Odysseus. Themes that will be discussed include the meaning of place, home, identity, and what it means to be a hero. The course instructor is Professor Johanna Fisher, and she will lead participants through readings from The Iliad and The Odyssey.  For purposes of poetic voice and clarity in storytelling, translations by Emily Wilson will be used. Meetings: June 9, 23, 30, July 7,14, and 21 at 12:00 - 1:00 PM EST via Microsoft Teams (to be recorded and made available via email). There will be reading assignments and a special Google document for additional materials, links, and conversations.
