The Women’s Business Center at Canisius College and the Small Business Administration present a series of free, in-person AND online, contracting workshop/training modules designed to help prospective and existing small businesses understand the basics about contracting with the federal government.

Join us from 9:00am – 12:00 pm, December 3, 2019.

For those of you who can't make it to the meeting, a Zoom Online Meeting link will be sent to you after receiving your registration. You can join either a specific or all of the following sections.

9:00 am to 9:55 am - Government Contracting 101, Part 1: An Introduction to Federal Contracting

This seminar provides an overview of the federal government contracting process. It is designed for small businesses that are new to the world of federal procurement. We will focus on 10 Simple Steps to get started in government contracting including: obtaining a DUNS number, determining your NAICS Code and registering in SAM/DSBS.

10:00 am to 10:55 am - Government Contracting 101, Part 2: Overview of Small Business Programs

This workshop will detail the eligibility requirements for small business certifications including: Small Business, Small Disadvantaged Business (DBE), Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and Woman Owned Small Businesses (WOSB). We will also review the application process for 8(a) and HUBZone certification.

11:00 am to 12:00 pm - Government Contracting 101, Part 3: Marketing and Selling to the Federal Government

This seminar is designed to help Small Businesses take advantage of government contracting opportunities. We will teach you how to develop a winning SAM profile, prepare a quality Capability Statement, find contract opportunities and market directly to federal agencies.

Current Address:

Keep your current address and your contact phone numbers up to date.

Email and Password:

If your Email address changes, be sure to update it so you will receive your order and shipping confirmations. Also, change your password regularly for increased security.

Payment Methods:

If available, you can securely save new payment methods or update existing ones -- for instance, update your credit card expiration date.

Order Tracking & History:

Check the current status of your orders and view past orders.

Authenticate yourself as a member of a special group. This may allow you to view and purchase products or services available only to members of that group.

Shipping Addresses:

Edit and manage your saved shipping addresses. For instance, you might save your grandma's address under the nickname "Grandma". Then during checkout, you'll be able to select from your list of shipping addresses. Data fields will automatically be filled in for you.
